Sunday Mornings
8 a.m. Rite II Eucharist. Although all are welcome, this service is attended primarily by singles and couples without children. The service is conducted without hymns, although there is music during communion. Our communion circle is a revered feature of this service.
10 a.m. Rite II Eucharist. Dominated by families with children, this service features a choir, hymns from a variety of sources, and a sung liturgy. A highlight is the arrival of the children from Sunday school classes prior to communion.
Special Services
Baptism. We initiate new members — both children and adults — into the body of Christ by water and the Holy Spirit. Holy Family typically conducts baptisms at the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (Jan. 13, 2008), Easter Vigil (March 22, 2008), Pentecost Sunday (May 11, 2008), and All Saints’ Sunday (Nov. 2, 2008). For more information, send e-mail to Father Mike.
Confirmation. Young people older than 16 years of age and adults publicly reaffirm the vows they made, or their parents made on their behalf, at baptism. Confirmation follows a program of preparation and a pre-confirmation gathering with the Bishop. For more information, send e-mail to Father Mike.
Ash Wednesday - Feb. 6, 2008. We mark the beginning of Lent with services featuring Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes.
Palm and Passion Sunday - March 16, 2008. To commemorate Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, we join in a procession with singing and the waving of palm leaves. The reading of the Passion Gospel, with members of the congregation taking the various roles, highlights this service.
Maundy Thursday – March 20, 2008. We remember the Last Supper with an agape meal and a service that includes, for those who wish to participate, the washing of each other’s feet. Following the service, some members of the congregation maintain an all-night vigil, including visiting the stations of the cross.
Good Friday – March 21, 2008. This solemn service commemorates Christ's sacrfice for us on the cross.
Easter Vigil – March 22, 2008. The highlight of our annual worship program, this Saturday evening service is the first service of Easter. This wonderful service features the lighting of the Paschal candle and the sharing of its light among the congregation, the reading of Scripture that illuminates "God's saving deeds in history," joyous baptisms, the ringing of bells and the proclamation that "Christ is risen."
Easter Sunday – March 23, 2008. During our regular 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services, we affirm that "the Lord is risen indeed."
Christmas Eve – Dec. 24, 2008. An early evening service for families with young children and a late night vigil service celebrate with lessons and carols the birth of our Lord.
Christmas – Dec. 25, 2008. We gather for a late morning communion service to celebrate the arrival of our newborn King.
