Members of our congregation are big on food and fellowship. Among the many activities throughout the year, here are some of Holy Family’s major fellowship events.
Newcomers Gathering – Jan. 17, 2009
This event provides an opportunity for newer members of the congregation to gather and socialize in an adult setting, getting to know one another outside the boundaries of the church building itself.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper – Feb. 24, 2009
The youth of the congregation prepare and serve a scrumptious pancake supper as we indulge in some extra calories before the long penitential season of Lent.
Strawberry Festival – June 27-28, 2009
Members of the congregation work together at our food booth, which dispenses Indiana’s finest strawberry shortcake, during the Fishers Freedom Festival.
Hog Roast – Sept. 12, 2009
After a morning spent performing service projects throughout the Fishers community, the afternoon is highlighted by a pitch-in supper featuring roast pork prepared by the Brother of St. Andrew.
Pumpkin Chunkin’ – Nov. 7, 2009
What do you do with used jack-o'-lanterns? You bring them to Holy Family, and we launch them from our trebuchet, a catapult-like device. You can also sample spicy-hot chili and enjoy sticky s’mores.
Saint Nicholas Night – Dec. 6, 2009
To mark the feast day of Bishop Nicholas, this family event features crafts, cookie decorating, the singing of carols, reading of “The Night Before Christmas,” and a visit from Bishop Nicholas himself.
